Hello everyone, I’m Wanxin. Today I won’t talk about candlestick chart indicators, and I won’t discuss the illusory get-rich myth. Instead, I want to be open with you and talk about two completely different life paths in the circle: some people ride the trend and benefit, while others end up ruined because of greed. This market has never lacked opportunities—what’s missing is the ability to restrain greed and know when to stop.
There are many people around me who invest in Bitcoin, and their outcomes are vastly different.
I have an old friend. He started laying out Bitcoin a few years ago, and his mindset has always been calm. Back then, after entering the market, when the price rose and he earned his expected returns, he took profits in batches. He never expected the market to keep rising endlessly. When he encountered big drops and volatility, he wasn’t in a hurry to add more just to make up for it. If he couldn’t read the market, he chose to stay in cash and wait. He didn’t chase higher prices or go all-in. He only used spare money to invest. When he made money, he turned it into realized profits; when he lost, it stayed within what he could personally bear. Over the years, he accumulated steadily. His life has been well-off and stable. Thanks to reasonable planning, his assets gradually increased in value, and his days have been calm and effortless.
But for more people, they lose to endless greed.
I have an acquaintance who made his first pot of gold years ago by following the market. He had already reaped a lot, and he could have stopped and lived comfortably and steadily. But seeing the price keep rising, he refused to stop there. He felt he could still make more. Not only did he reinvest all of his profits again, he also borrowed money everywhere to increase his position size—going all-in to bet that the trend would keep pushing higher. He fantasized about achieving financial freedom overnight, ignored market risks, and refused to set a stop-loss. When a major pullback finally arrived, all his previous profits were wiped out, and the borrowed money became impossible to repay. The savings he had painstakingly accumulated were gone, and the previously stable life turned into chaos.
There is also a pair of good friends. One person got involved with Bitcoin first. They managed position sizing reasonably, took profits when things went well, and reaped good returns. Later, they advised their friend with a small amount of capital to try it, repeatedly stressing not to put in too much principal. But the other person tasted a bit of sweetness and then greed completely got out of control. They put their entire home down payment into it, waiting for the price to skyrocket so they could exchange for a bigger house. Faced with clear risk signals from the market, they ignored them and insisted on holding the position, refusing to leave. In the end, the market fell sharply. Their capital was deeply trapped. The house remained out of reach. Not only did they lose all their savings, but the two also grew distant because of it—old friendship no longer exists.
There is also a friend in his forties who was misled by short-term high returns. Seeing others making money easily, he was also eager to profit and fell for so-called internal channels, increasing his investment. At first, he made small profits, which only made his ambition grow. He kept adding more funds, even taking on debt to invest. When the platform ran into problems and the market suddenly dropped, he still held onto hope and refused to cut losses and exit. He kept thinking he should wait to break even before selling. Only after all his funds were locked did he finally realize it—but by then, everything was already irreversible.
These are all real events that happen in the circle. There’s no exaggeration or hype—only tangible lessons.
In the Bitcoin market, opportunities and risks coexist. If someone understands contentment, respects the market, and controls their desires, they can gain wealth that belongs to them. Once greed takes control—always trying to squeeze out the last point, overinvesting, going blindly all-in, and refusing to stop in time—no matter how good the market is, gains will slowly drain away. In the end, it will only be self-defeating.
I share these experiences not to encourage everyone to stay away from the market, but to remind everyone: never use money you can’t afford to lose to gamble, and don’t let greed consume your rationality. Earning is luck; keeping it is ability. On the road to wealth, only by knowing contentment and exercising restraint can you move forward steadily and go far.
