Deep Tide TechFlow news flash: On July 22, OpenAI said on Wednesday that it will invest $20 billion to launch a data center project called “Camellia” in Effingham County, Georgia. OpenAI’s Deputy Vice President of Computing Strategy, Sachin Katti, said the company has signed a contract with Georgia Power to receive 3.2 gigawatts of power supply between 2028 and 2032, and the project cost is expected to potentially exceed $30 billion. This could make the facility one of the largest data centers OpenAI has built to date. According to insiders, OpenAI hired Brent Meo to help ensure the data center project stays on schedule; he is one of the lead architects for Musk’s data center construction projects. (Jin10)
