Abstract generation in progress
Golden Finance reported that on July 22, according to calculations by the Financial Times, the Trump administration this year has generated more than $13 billion in revenue from Venezuelan oil sales. However, the government has hardly disclosed how these funds have been used in detail. The U.S. government has said that the money “will be used to benefit the American people and the Venezuelan people.” But after six months of the U.S. controlling these funds, economists say there are relatively few signs of economic recovery in Venezuela—perhaps suggesting that the U.S. has not returned all the revenue to Caracas. After the earthquake, Venezuela’s economy has been in crisis, and the country has been working to obtain those funds stored abroad, including funds held by the International Monetary Fund and gold kept by the Bank of England.
