A-shares close: The ChiNext Index wavered and weakened, falling 3.24%; semiconductor and PCB concept stocks saw choppy weakness in the afternoon.

By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.07% to 3,867.03 points, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.42% to 14,061.44 points, the ChiNext Index dropped 3.24% to 3,566.73 points, and the Nasdaq-style Beijing Index (North Ventures 50) fell 0.43% to 1,074.45 points. Trading value across the three markets totaled 2.67T yuan, down 305.6 billion yuan from the previous day. More than 3,800 stocks across the market declined.

In terms of sectors and themes, precious metals, oil & gas, and power led the gains; gaming and PET copper foil led the losses.

On the trading board, the precious metals sector opened higher and strengthened steadily. Xingye Silver & Tin and Chifeng Gold notched two consecutive daily limit-ups; Zijin Gold and Shanjin International hit the daily limit. Xiaocheng Technology, Zhongjin Gold, Sichuan Gold, Zijin Mining, Shandong Gold, and Western Gold also followed higher. The oil & gas sector fluctuated but moved upward overall; Zhongman Petroleum hit the daily limit, and Keli Shares, Shouhua Gas, Tongyuan Petroleum, Qian Neng Hengxin, and Sinopec Oilfield Services followed. The power sector rose in the afternoon; Jiuzhou Group jumped more than 10%, and Xinhonggang, Huadian Liaoneng, and Xinneng Shares hit the daily limit.

The gaming sector weakened on fluctuations. Giant Network fell more than 6%, while Baotong Technology, Century Huatong, and Kaiying Network followed lower. The PET copper foil sector continued to drop; Tongguan Copper Foil fell more than 10%, and Sanfu Xinke, Huicheng Vacuum, Zhongtian Technology, Taijin Xinneng, and Dongwei Technology also trailed lower.
