What did he do?
Developed 121 fake banking APKs after learning from YouTube videos and AI tools.
Sold them to the Jamtara cyber fraud gang for ₹15,000 per file on a monthly subscription model.
Damage:
21,672 people downloaded the fake apps.
2,928 victims lost a combined ₹65 Crore.
How was he caught?
A Surat resident downloaded a fake PNB One app and lost ₹5 lakh from his bank account.
The complaint led investigators directly to the developer.
No coding degree was needed.
Just a subscription model and fraudsters willing to buy malware.
