SoftBank launches the GaranAI platform, using news content to enhance AI capabilities
Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 22, SoftBank Group said on Wednesday that it will begin operating a new information platform called GaranAI, obtaining article data from news agencies and publishers, and processing it into data usable by generative AI. Content creators, including Daily News Agency, Nikkei News Agency, Kyodo News, and some local newspaper publishers, will provide content to GaranAI and receive corresponding compensation.
SoftBank will convert the content into a data format that is difficult to restore to its original form, and then further process it into data that is easier for AI to use, before selling it to AI developers to help improve the accuracy of AI responses to users’ questions. On Wednesday, SoftBank released a trial version of the platform and began accepting applications from AI developers. The operator plans to continue improving the platform over the next six months and launch a formal version in January next year or later. The company also plans to expand the scope of the platform so it can accept copyrighted content from a wider range of fields. (Jin10)
