CLARITY Act Faces Delays as Ethics Debate Continues
The proposed CLARITY Act, a major piece of U.S. crypto legislation, remains under discussion as lawmakers continue negotiating key ethics provisions. While there is broad interest in creating clearer rules for digital assets, disagreements over conflict-of-interest safeguards have slowed progress.
According to recent reports, Democratic lawmakers are seeking stronger ethics measures related to President Donald Trump's crypto-related business interests. The White House has shared parts of an ethics proposal with Republican negotiators, but discussions are still ongoing and no final agreement has been reached.
The CLARITY Act is designed to provide greater regulatory clarity for the digital asset industry by defining how cryptocurrencies and related businesses should be supervised. Supporters believe the legislation could encourage innovation, improve investor confidence, and create a more predictable regulatory environment.
However, lawmakers from both parties continue to debate how ethics standards should be included in the legislation. These discussions are focused on ensuring transparency and reducing potential conflicts of interest while allowing the bill to move forward.
For the crypto industry, the outcome of these negotiations could have a significant impact on the future regulatory framework in the United States. A clear legal structure may help businesses operate with greater certainty while strengthening trust in the market.
Although negotiations are continuing, the final version of the CLARITY Act has not yet been approved. Market participants will be watching closely for further developments as lawmakers work toward a possible agreement.
