# Not every market move is worth getting involved
Sometimes, I won’t make a trade all day.
It’s not because there’s no action.
It’s because it hasn’t reached the position I want to take.
In the past, I always thought that as long as the order book moved, I should look for an opportunity to participate. I was always afraid that if I missed a single trade, I would miss a profit.
Later, I realized the real reason I lose money has never been missing the market.
It’s seeing the market and wanting to trade anyway.
The longer you trade, the more you’ll notice a simple fact.
The market moves every day, but opportunities that truly deserve your action are actually not that many.
A lot of the time, I’d rather wait a few more hours—sometimes even wait an extra day—than trade just to trade.
Because once you force an entry, your rhythm easily gets thrown off.
If you try to “catch up” on this one, and then trade to prove yourself on the next one, in the end you’re not really trading—you’re fighting with your emotions.
When I’m watching the charts now, the first thing I don’t do is decide whether to go long or short.
I ask myself one question first:
**Is this the kind of position where I’m willing to take the risk?**
If not, then keep waiting.
Many people think being in cash is hard.
Actually, what’s really hard isn’t being in cash.
It’s watching the market move and still being able to hold your nerve and not chase blindly.
That ability matters more than analyzing the market.
Some market moves I will participate in.
Some I will outright give up.
Not because I can’t understand them.
But because the risk-reward ratio isn’t suitable.
When you trade long enough, you’ll come to understand this more and more:
Not every行情 that can make money belongs to you.
What can truly stay for the long run isn’t the person who trades every day.
It’s the one who knows when to act—and when to wait.
Opportunities are everywhere every day.
But your principal is only one.
Keeping your ammunition for the chances you’re most certain about matters more than anything.
