Winklevoss brothers donate $10 million worth of Bitcoin to MAGA

According to CryptoSlate, the latest filings from the U.S. Federal Election Commission (FEC) show that on June 19, 2026, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss donated Bitcoin worth $10,018,464.91 to the pro-Trump super political action committee MAGA Inc. (amounting to $5,006,604.47 and $5,011,860.44, respectively). The donation took place 23 days after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced that it was joining its lawsuit against crypto exchange Gemini, seeking to overturn a 2025 ruling. FEC records show that the committee sold the donated Bitcoin through Gemini. The CFTC previously said that, under current standards, it should not have brought the case because the original complaint was based on unreliable whistleblower statements and had procedural defects. It therefore agreed, together with Gemini, to jointly ask the court to vacate the consent order, but the $5 million penalty paid by Gemini in 2025 would not be refunded.
