《New to the crypto circle, 🐶 taught me three lessons first》

Just now the market got another sudden spike—I bet you’re just like me, feeling itchy and wanting to rush in, right?

To be honest, when I first started trading perps, my brain was single-track: crank the leverage as high as it would go. The higher the multiplier, the faster the money—at least that’s what I thought. So what happened? On the third day, my account got cut straight in half.

Later, when I calmed down and thought about it, it wasn’t bad luck or anything. It was simply that I had zero risk-control awareness—basically the same as walking into the market without any protection.

Lesson one: position sizing. Before, I’d constantly dump in half, even all-in. Now I’ve learned to be smarter. I split my total funds into ten parts, and each trade I only take one out to play with. Even if I get a few wrong calls in a row, my foundation won’t shake. And once your heart settles, your judgment is actually sharper than before.

Lesson two: stop-loss. I used to be the classic “if I’m losing, I pretend it didn’t happen; if I’m winning, I slip away.” Later I drew myself a hard line: if the floating loss hits, I run immediately—no bargaining with the market. The first few times I got stopped out, it hurt like hell. But looking back, there were multiple major crashes where I dodged perfectly.

Lesson three: small-cap coins—this one really hurts. Now I stick to just watching BTC and ETH. The market is bigger, the information is clearer, and even if the other side wants to mess with you, they can’t do it so easily.

By today, I don’t believe in “turn your life around overnight” anymore. Lock in every possible loss within what you can actually withstand—that’s the real foundation for standing your ground in contracts.

You don’t need to step into every pit yourself just to learn your lesson. I’ll lay out all the detours I went through and tell you about them. But let me be real: I know you’ll probably still want to try charging in on your own. Fine—hit the wall and you’ll get it.

The truly厉害 people are the ones who use the tuition paid by others to set rules for themselves.
