I saw insufficient support—once it went up, nobody was there to catch it—so I flagged the short-sell idea early and waited for it to drift down on its own.

I won’t linger in the position. First, I’ll close 80%; the remaining 20% will have the protective stop moved up to the break-even cost. If it keeps being pushed down, I’ll let the remaining position ride along with the profits. If it suddenly bounces back, it won’t affect the portion already realized.
