‏Russia’s gold reserves at the Central Bank of Russia fell to 73.4 million troy ounces by July 1, 2026, reaching their lowest level since February 2020, according to data released by the Russian central bank.



Gold reserves had been 73.3 million troy ounces in February 2020, making the current level the lowest in more than six years.

This decline comes as part of a series of ongoing drops since the start of the year, as gold reserves were 74.8 million troy ounces on January 1, 2026, before falling by 300,000 troy ounces in February, then by 200,000 troy ounces in March.

The downward trend continued in the following months, with reserves falling to 74.1 million troy ounces on April 1, then to 73.9 million troy ounces in May after a decrease of 500,000 troy ounces, before dropping to 73.7 million troy ounces in June, then to 73.4 million troy ounces in July.

The total value of Russia’s cash gold reserves was about $298.99 billion, according to the latest data issued by the central bank.
