7.21 Gold + BTC Full-Day Recap
I. Gold
Today’s core driving force is geopolitical risk aversion. The situation in the Strait of Hormuz has heated up, with funds flocking into safe-haven assets.
In the early session, gold prices opened around 4010. The support was expected to be solid, so longs were staged with layered orders placed in batches: add-ons at 4010/4030/4040 to avoid the risk of going all-in at once.
Throughout the session, the market rose steadily with a bullish trend. Pullbacks did not break key support levels. Positions were held into the afternoon above 4070, with profit taken in batches, realizing gains across the board.
In the evening, price spiked to 4084 and then fell off on short-term overbought conditions. The current price is 4058, consolidating. The bigger trend remains bullish. Don’t chase longs at high levels; wait for a pullback to support and then buy the dip.
II. BTC (Bitcoin)
BTC followed gold passively, rising alongside it, with no independent positive catalyst. The upside strength was far weaker than gold.
Today’s intraday low was 64034, rebounding to a high of 66390. The current price is 66273, up only 2%.
Funds saw a small net inflow, and short-term indicators still have bullish momentum. However, the 66390 level has been pressured multiple times, making a small pullback likely.
For execution, remember not to take long-term heavy positions—this is only suitable for short-term swing trades. If 66210 is held, there is a chance to push higher toward 66500. If that level breaks, focus shifts to support at 66146.
III. Practical Summary
1. For gold, trade the safe-haven storyline. Staging entries at lower levels beats chasing rallies; shorting against the trend is likely to get stopped out.
2. BTC has too strong a correlation. When gold pulls back, BTC’s drawdown will be larger—strictly control position size.
3. Staggered entries can ease holding pressure. Volatility increases in the evening, so any trade must have stop-losses in place. $BTC
