NVIDIA launches Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system for next-generation ultra-large-scale AI factories

Odaily Planet Daily News: On July 21, Nvidia released its new-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system to support ultra-large-scale AI infrastructure built on the Vera Rubin platform. With a per-switching capacity of 102.4Tbps, it is twice that of the previous-generation product. The system is designed to connect GPU and CPU at the tens-of-thousands scale, providing network support for large-scale AI training, agent applications, and inference tasks.

Nvidia said that Spectrum-6 will serve as the core component of the next-generation Spectrum-X Ethernet platform. By delivering high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management, and fault recovery capabilities, it will improve overall compute efficiency across AI factories. AI infrastructure builders such as CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI, and Tesla will be among the first to deploy it.
