Today I really made myself mad.

The market has been rising all along, yet I always feel like, “It’s risen so much—surely it’s going to drop.” Then I start shorting on the highs. First time—I stop out. Second time—I still go short. Third time—I still think, “This time it’s definitely at the top.” And the result: the market keeps going up while I get beaten the whole way.

Later on it wasn’t even analyzing the market anymore—it was fighting with it. The hardest part isn’t losing money. It’s the profit I grinded together from more than a dozen trades, painstakingly—because of my unwillingness to admit defeat, I managed to bleed out several losing trades and wipe it all out.

Self-criticism: today’s biggest mistake isn’t shorting. It’s the direction being wrong—and me refusing to acknowledge it. I kept thinking I needed to prove I was right. I kept thinking, “If it just rises a bit more, it’ll fall.” The more I traded, the more I lost; the more I lost, the more I wanted to win it back. Once you get overexcited, discipline disappears.

So I have to set rules for myself! If I make two consecutive mistakes, I stop immediately and cool down. It’s not because my technical skills aren’t good. It’s that starting from the third trade, most likely you’re not trading anymore—you’re trading with emotions. And one more line that I have to engrave in my head from now on: when the market is up, respect the uptrend. When the market is down, respect the downtrend.

Stop always trying to catch the top. Don’t keep thinking you can short at the highest point.
Real money-makers follow the market, they don’t go against it.
Hope this “tuition fee” I paid today helps me grow. And I also hope that whenever I want to touch the top against the trend later, I’ll remember today.

The market is always right; what’s wrong is only yourself, the one who won’t admit mistakes!

Hope this post can also remind people like me 😂

It’s better to miss a wave of opportunities than to stubbornly fight the trend. Survive first—it’s more important than anything! As long as you preserve your principal, there will always be a chance!
