Wu Shuo learned that crypto asset platform Uphold announced stock trading services for U.S. users, allowing them to trade more than 4,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs within its app, and, where applicable, buy fractional shares, with a minimum investment of $5. Users can convert supported crypto assets on the platform in one step and use them to buy stocks. The relevant securities services are provided by Uphold Securities, which is registered with the U.S. SEC and is a member of both FINRA and SIPC. Account custody and clearing are handled by Apex Clearing. Uphold said that its future plans include expanding trading hours to 5 days per week, 24 hours per day, covering pre-market, after-hours, and overnight trading.
