State Administration of Foreign Exchange: In the future, China’s international balance of payments is expected to maintain basic equilibrium

On July 17, Li Bin, Vice Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, said at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that China’s balance of international payments is expected to remain basically balanced in the future. China will adhere to expanding domestic demand, vigorously boost consumption, expand effective investment, and promote the balanced development of imports and exports. China will support the current account surplus to remain at a reasonable and well-balanced level over the medium to long term. At the same time, China will steadily expand institutional opening up and broaden the space for investment cooperation, and China’s external asset scale will steadily increase.
