Grayscale Just Filed For a Worldcoin ETF In United States
Grayscale has taken a significant step toward expanding crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs), filing S-1 paperwork to launch a Worldcoin (WLD) ETF in the United States.
The proposed fund would offer investors direct exposure to the WLD token through a traditional exchange-traded product listed on Nasdaq under the ticker GWLD.
If approved, this would mark yet another milestone in the growing list of single-asset crypto vehicles beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.
What We Know About The Structure
The S-1 filing outlines a spot-style structure, with the fund holding actual Worldcoin tokens. It also details key custody and administrative arrangements, reflecting the increasing standardization of infrastructure for non-Bitcoin crypto ETF products.
However, a filing does not guarantee approval. The SEC will now review the application, a process that could involve requests for revisions, delays, or potential rejection.
This move highlights how asset managers are pushing the boundaries of the ETF wrapper into more specialized tokens. While Worldcoin is not yet considered a blue-chip asset like Bitcoin, an approval could signal broader openness from regulators to mainstream crypto exposure.
For the market, it adds to the growing momentum in the crypto ETF space and raises questions about which tokens could be next in line
