Insider: China and the US plan to hold AI talks in September to discuss regulatory risks for frontier models

Golden Finance News reports, citing Reuters and five people familiar with the matter, that China and the United States plan to hold AI-related talks in September to discuss regulatory risks posed by increasingly powerful frontier AI models.
Sources say the U.S. side expects the talks to be led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and that the two sides are still determining the attendees, agenda, and location of the meeting. (CNBC)
