According to Digital Asset, Mirae Asset Consulting, a subsidiary of Mirae Asset Group in South Korea, will increase its stake in the acquisition of the cryptocurrency exchange Korbit from 92.06% to 97.15%. The acquisition amount will rise from 133.5 billion won to 141.4 billion won (about $102 million). The transaction was approved by the board on July 15 and is expected to complete the share acquisition on July 21. The Korea Fair Trade Commission had previously approved the corporate merger, saying that given Korbit’s market share, the likelihood that the transaction would restrict competition in the market is low.
