Golden Finance reported that on July 21, US intelligence reporter John Hudson said that US intelligence agencies’ assessments show pessimism about a new round of military strikes targeting Iran: current and former officials said these strikes are unlikely to have a significant impact on Iran and are unlikely to soften its negotiation stance. According to US intelligence analysts, Tehran and Washington are stuck in an indefinite stalemate between war and peace, and given the increasingly lethal tit-for-tat hostile actions between the two countries, this situation is unsettling.
In addition, they noted that intelligence assessments like those on the Iran issue are not intended to make specific predictions about the future. Instead, they are summaries of likely trends for the present and future, based on all available classified intelligence (including human intelligence and technical collection) and public information.
