BlockBeats, July 21: Ant International announced it has completed its Series A funding. Ant Group and certain existing shareholders including Alibaba, as well as multiple internationally well-known investment institutions, participated in this round. The total amount is approximately $1.2 billion. The funds will be used to expand global operations, accelerate investment in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, broaden inclusive fintech services such as cross-border payments and global accounts, and help merchants worldwide achieve growth.

On March 19, 2024, Jing Xiandong issued an all-staff letter announcing that Ant International, OceanBase, and Ant Digital Technology under Ant Group have each established boards of directors and operate independently for the market. At present, Jing Xiandong serves as Chairman of Ant International; Yang Peng is the CEO; and Douglas Feagin is the President. Ant International’s business covers major markets including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. It connects more than 150 million global merchant accounts and over 2 billion consumer accounts, with innovation, settlement, and operations centers located in places such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Currently, Ant International has four major business segments: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst (万里汇), and Bettr. They respectively focus on improving global payment interoperability, developing technology-driven merchant payment, treasury management, and fintech solutions powered by technologies such as AI, and building a broad collaboration network with financial institutions, technology companies, and merchants both inside and outside China. #GUSD年化升至3.8%
