Cardano Holds $0.1652 as Charles Hoskinson Reveals Bold Pogun Bitcoin Price Target
Cardano fell to $0.1652 as traders sold after the successful van Rossem hard fork.
Charles Hoskinson unveiled Pogun to bring Bitcoin liquidity into Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem.
ADA’s outlook depends on Pogun adoption, technical support, and broader altcoin market sentiment.
Cardano — ADA, is under pressure despite a major milestone for the network. ADA slipped to $0.1652 after the successful van Rossem hard fork. Many traders expected a stronger rally following the upgrade. Instead, profit-taking dominated market activity. Another announcement from founder Charles Hoskinson shifted attention toward future growth. His ambitious Pogun strategy aims to connect Bitcoin with Cardano’s decentralized finance ecosystem, creating fresh demand for ADA through real network usage.
Hard Fork Fails to Spark Immediate Buying
Cardano lost around 0.5%, even as the broader crypto market posted modest gains. The decline reflected a classic sell-the-news reaction. Many investors had already priced the network upgrade into previous market moves. Once the hard fork arrived, buyers failed to step in with fresh momentum. Trading volume dropped by more than 55%, reinforcing cautious market sentiment.
Lower volume often signals weak conviction from both buyers and sellers. Without stronger participation, ADA struggled to attract sustained upward movement. Technical indicators also remain mixed. The Relative Strength Index sits near 49, showing balanced momentum. Neither bulls nor bears currently control price action. ADA also trades far below the 200-day moving average near $0.256.
That gap highlights continued long-term weakness. Several important price levels deserve close attention. Support near $0.176 could help buyers rebuild confidence. A successful defense may open a path toward the $0.185 Fibonacci level. However, failure to hold support near $0.169 may trigger another wave of selling. Such a move could send ADA toward the recent low near $0.1387.
Hoskinson’s Pogun Vision Could Reshape ADA Demand
Charles Hoskinson recently revealed an ambitious roadmap for 2026. Pogun aims to bring nearly $1.6 trillion worth of idle Bitcoin into Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem. The platform plans a three-phase rollout focused on lending, yield generation, and trust-minimized Bitcoin bridging. Every transaction within Pogun requires ADA to pay network fees. Bitcoin users may never notice those payments directly. Behind every transaction, ADA powers network activity.
Many supporters view this model as a major opportunity. ADA could benefit from steady transaction demand if Bitcoin liquidity enters Cardano. Such growth would strengthen network activity while expanding decentralized finance services. Some community members remain cautious. Bitcoin holders may never need direct ADA ownership. Protocol-level fee payments could reduce buying pressure for retail investors.
Execution also remains a concern because previous Cardano projects experienced lengthy development timelines. Future success depends on adoption rather than announcements. Strong Bitcoin participation would validate Hoskinson’s strategy. Weak adoption could limit long-term benefits. For now, traders continue watching technical levels while waiting for Pogun to prove real value across Cardano’s growing ecosystem.
