Reuters reported that, according to the Financial Times, the London Stock Exchange has unveiled plans to launch a night trading platform in the first half of 2027.

The LSE’s new exchange will operate separately from its main market and will provide access to exchange-traded products from the start, such as funds tracking the UK or US stock markets.
The move comes as exchanges respond to the growth of assets like crypto that aren’t constrained by traditional trading hours, and it has especially fueled retail traders’ expectations for “trading anytime.”
Nasdaq plans to extend weekday trading to 23 hours in December. CME rolled out 24/7 trading for crypto futures and options in late May, and Cboe plans to introduce 23x5 trading of US stocks on its EDGX exchange in December.
The LSE’s new exchange will run in London time from 5:00 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. the next day, with a 30-minute pause between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. for end-of-day processes. The primary trading venues will continue to operate during standard hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LSE CEO Julia Hoggett told the Financial Times that demand is rising globally, especially among retail investors, to use London’s time zone advantages to gain exposure not only to UK assets, but also to global assets.
