Golden Finance reports that on July 21, Grayscale has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement for a Grayscale Worldcoin ETF, planning to launch its first ETF linked to Worldcoin (WLD). The fund will directly hold World Network’s native token WLD and, via a passive investment approach, track its value, after deducting fund fees and other liabilities.
If approved, the ETF will be listed on Nasdaq under Nasdaq’s general listing standards. BNY Mellon is set to serve as the transfer agent, while crypto custody institution BitGo Bank&Trust is set to act as the asset custodian. WLD’s current market capitalization is about $1.3 billion, ranking it 57th among crypto assets. Worldcoin later rebranded to World, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, with operations spanning biometric identification, crypto assets, and blockchain identity verification.
This application is the latest move by Grayscale to expand its crypto investment products. The company previously launched Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and has applied for funds linked to assets such as Dogecoin, Solana, and Chainlink.
