What’s the logic behind shorting $SPCX ?

1: On August 4, there was a profit news report; on the 6th, 20% of the shares were unlocked, increasing selling pressure
2: The IPO price fell below 135 and has momentum to drop toward around 100
3: It hasn’t gone up for nearly half a month; the market cap has evaporated by $1 trillion
4: Musk publicly called out that the SPCX price is falling as expected
5: By late August and early September, another 7% of shares will continue to be unlocked (all unlocked within one year)
6: Two consecutive launch failures, and the stock price continues to plunge
7: The short positions have already made nearly $10 billion
8: The market cap is too massive; Starship takes too long to break even
9: The market cap keeps falling; panic is intensifying and rallies are showing fatigue
In the most recent half month, how SPCX has been doing is obvious to everyone.
After research, the real price of the rocket should stabilize around August 16 #SpaceX
SPCX4.36%

Panic is spreading, and retail investors are still catching falling knives, while the shorts sit back and enjoy it. Once the unlock is complete, will you flip back long?

Continuous launch failures are a fatal blow, and market confidence has collapsed.

The logic is fine, but keep in mind that the 7% of shares will continue to unlock at the end of August, which will likely pressure the market again. It’s suitable for shorting in a swing trade—don’t get greedy.

August 16 is critical; keep staying short until the rocket’s price stabilizes.

Agreed—unlocking and the earnings report are both negative factors.

The Starship hasn’t even recouped its costs yet, and the stock price has already crashed.

Even Musk’s calls couldn’t save it—this is truly freezing cold.
