Hackers attack the Kenyan president’s official website, demanding a $5 Bitcoin ransom.

Golden Finance reported that on July 21, the Kenyan government is investigating a hacking incident involving President William Ruto’s official website. On July 18, the attackers briefly tampered with the president’s website page and demanded a 5 BTC ransom; otherwise, they would leak undisclosed data.
The Kenyan Minister of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy said the government has initiated a cybersecurity response mechanism and is working with relevant agencies to conduct forensic investigations. There is currently no evidence indicating that sensitive data was accessed without authorization or leaked, and the government’s digital services are still operating normally.
