On the bounce, short with resistance at 65,600-65,800, stop-loss above 66,000; cut positions in half at 65,000-65,200, and the rest look at 64,500-64,000.
Current BTC price is 65,273, with the intraday high at 65,818. In the past 24 hours, it rose 1.57% to 65,389. But after a spike to 65,788 on the 4-hour chart, it kept closing in the red continuously, with clear short-term selling pressure. The 65,800 level has been tested three times with no breakthrough; the long side’s volume has visibly weakened, and signals of high-level stagnation are showing. The Bollinger Bands have narrowed to an extreme tight range, with only about 2,200 points between the upper and lower bands; volatility compression to the extreme often indicates a prelude to a big move. Combined with volume and structure, the probability of a bearish turn is higher.
Resistance above: 65,600-65,800; 65,788 is the intraday previous high—after three tests, it was pulled back each time, and sell pressure is heavy.
Downside targets: 64,800-64,500 as the first stop; if it breaks down, look at 64,000-63,500.
① On the 1-hour chart, after peaking at 65,800 it kept closing lower and retreating, with volume clearly unable to keep up—typical “fake breakout to lure longs.” RSI across three timeframes is evenly distributed in a neutral-to-weak zone around 53-55. The annualized funding rate is only 8%, unchanged from a week ago, below the leveraged long signal threshold of 12%. Large traders lack consensus on continuing to push higher.
② The US-Iran conflict has continued for multiple days. Brent crude has returned above $89. News that Iran is seeking ceasefire talks briefly pushed oil prices down by $3, but the situation remains volatile; meanwhile, the probability of a Fed rate hike in July has fallen sharply from 40% to 14%, but the September hike probability remains 55%-65%, and it rises to about 80% in December—geopolitical risk plus rate-hike expectations together are double-pressuring risk appetite.
③ Bitcoin spot ETFs have seen net inflows for two straight weeks totaling $273 million, ending eight weeks of more than $8 billion in net outflows. But in June alone, net outflows were $4.5 billion in a single month, setting a historical record. Compared with the recent $273 million inflow versus the $8 billion outflow, the “losses of $1 only recover $0.033” is the reality. Citigroup cut its BTC 12-month target price from 112k to 82k. The expected ETF inflows for next year were cut from $10 billion to zero—institutional sentiment has clearly not shifted to a fully bullish stance.
The tighter the Bollinger Bands close, the harsher the waterfall after the breakout. When direction hasn’t come out, patience is worth more than courage. $BTC
