Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 21, a study by Nikkei Asia showed that amid a surge in AI investment, the hidden liabilities of major U.S. tech giants grew eightfold in just four years, reaching an estimated $1.65 trillion. This figure exceeds their actual on-book debt, making it harder for investors to assess related risks.

Nikkei Asia analyzed recent financial statements and other materials from Google’s parent company Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle. Among them, Meta’s off-balance-sheet liabilities were particularly costly—about $420 billion, nearly triple the debt it records on its books. (Jin10)
