#港媒曝谢贤去世# Hong Kong media: Xie Tingfeng’s father, Xie Xian, has died

According to Hong Kong media, legendary star “Four Brother” Xie Xian passed away today (the 20th), at the age of 89.
“The Sing Tao Daily” reported that Xie Tingfeng, who is currently preparing in Mainland China to hold concerts on July 25–26, has urgently and discreetly returned to Hong Kong to handle arrangements for his father Xie Xian’s funeral. There are reports that, in order to respect “Four Brother”’s wishes in life, everything will be handled quietly.
Xie Xian’s real name is Xie Jiayu. Born in 1936, he was called “Four Brother” for many years because he was the fourth child in his family and because he played “Luo Sihai” in TVB’s classic drama series “The King of Gamblers.” Xie Xian entered the entertainment industry as early as the 1950s. With his handsome and dashing looks and his charismatic, debonair temperament, he quickly became a sensation among countless young women, and rose to stardom in the 1950s and 1960s to become a leading young actor.
Xie Xian’s life was legendary—his acting career spanned over 70 years. Even in his later years, he kept reaching new highs. In 2019, he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 38th Hong Kong Film Awards. By 2022, he further won the “Best Actor” award at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards for the film “A Moment of Hero,” becoming the oldest Best Actor winner in Hong Kong Film Awards history at the age of 85.
