Golden Finance reported that on July 21, the three major U.S. stock indexes closed slightly lower. The Nasdaq fell 0.05%, the S&P 500 fell 0.19%, and the Dow Jones fell 0.59%. Most of the optical communications and storage sectors rose: Lumentum and Credo rose by more than 4%, Mavenir Technologies rose by more than 3%, Coherent, SanDisk, and Western Digital rose by more than 2%, and Seagate Technology and Micron Technology rose by more than 1%; SK hynix fell by more than 1%. Crypto-related stocks surged: Bit Digital rose 10%, Galaxy Digital rose by more than 9%, and Circle and Bakkt rose by more than 8%. Warner Bros. Discovery fell 3.76%, hitting a new closing low since April 2025. On the news front, a U.S. judge halted Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. IREN Ltd. (IREN) rose by more than 19%, posting its largest single-day gain since November 2024. The company raised its 2026 ARR target to over $4 billion and signed $2.8 billion in new customer contracts.
