AZ-COM Maruwa Embraces JPYC for Corporate Payments - Crypto Economy
Nikkei Asia reported July 20 that AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings plans to use JPYC, a yen-denominated stablecoin, for payments to about 2,300 business partners, including subcontractors and truck drivers. The logistics provider counts Amazon Japan among its clients, making JPYC adoption a large-scale corporate payments test inside Japan’s delivery infrastructure.
The company expects stablecoin transfers to support faster and more frequent payments than conventional bank transfers because JPYC transactions do not carry transfer fees, according to the report. AZ-COM Maruwa is also considering a partnership with JPYC Inc. and an investment of more than ¥1 billion, positioning yen-backed stablecoins as an operational tool for contractor settlement.
The next checkpoint is whether the plan moves from adoption intent to routine payment flow across the company’s logistics network. If implemented, the rollout would become one of Japan’s first large corporate uses of a yen stablecoin, because the payment case now shifts from pilot visibility to day-to-day treasury execution.
