Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 20, according to Forbes, Microsoft has released an emergency out-of-band security update (KB5121767) for the Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 versions to address performance issues and system shutdown failures triggered on certain Dell devices by the July Patch Tuesday update (KB5101650).

The issue is caused by a conflict between the latest Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface and the Intel Innovation Platform Framework processor driver. Known affected devices include models such as the Dell Pro Max 14/16 Premium and the Dell XPS 17 9720/9730. Microsoft said the update is only recommended for affected Dell users to install, and unaffected devices require no action.
