🇮🇳 The Government Collected ₹1.29 Lakh Crore in LTCG Tax in One Year.

Official reply in Parliament by Minister Pankaj Chaudhary.
Numbers:
FY 2023–24 — ₹72,249 Crore
FY 2024–25 — ₹1,29,158 Crore
2-year total — ₹2.01 Lakh Crore
Equity LTCG: 12.5% for both FPIs and domestic investors.
Clarification:
↳ No LTCG exemption for FPIs on equities.
↳ Only G-Secs are tax-free for FPIs from April 1, 2026.
Now compare with crypto:
↳ Equity: 12.5% tax on gains.
↳ Crypto: 30% flat tax, no loss offset.
Same government. Different treatment.
