Rain Trade Launches Prediction Market Format With Mike Tyson Leading Official Launch Campaign - U.Today
Timing the launch perfectly
The launch coincides with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, one of the largest global sporting events, as the company seeks to capitalize on growing interest in real-time forecasting and event-based trading. Users can create markets related to matches, player performances, tournament outcomes, and other developments as they unfold throughout the competition.
Unlike traditional prediction market platforms, where users can only participate in pre-existing markets, Rain Trade introduces a system that lets anyone create public or private markets on any subject and in any language. The goal is to shift users from being passive participants to active market creators, allowing communities to determine which events and questions deserve attention.

The platform supports both public markets, open to all users, and invitation-only private markets for smaller groups or specialized communities. Market resolution can be handled either through AI-assisted systems or manually, depending on the market creator's preferences.
Simplifying user experience
Rain Trade places significant emphasis on simplifying the user experience. Through account abstraction and gas sponsorship mechanisms, users can trade without directly managing blockchain transaction fees. The platform also supports funding from multiple blockchain ecosystems, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain and Bitcoin, automatically converting assets for use on the platform.
Another feature includes the platform's incentive structure, which rewards user participation. Market creators receive a 1% fee based on the total trading volume generated by markets they launch, while users receive additional rewards for participating in market closure and resolution processes.
The launch was aligned with Rain's ongoing ecosystem expansion. According to the company, Rain Protocol recently secured more than $200 million from Enlivex, alongside an additional $100 million from Rain for protocol liquidity.
Rain Protocol CEO Roy Shaham argued that prediction markets have long been limited by centralized control over which events users can trade. He said Rain Trade seeks to make market creation more community-driven by allowing users to decide which topics are relevant.
Tyson echoed a similar view, describing the platform as a new way for people to engage with opinions, forecasts and public sentiment. His involvement is expected to provide additional visibility, as Rain Trade attempts to establish itself within the increasingly competitive prediction market sector.
