The mistake that 99% of people make is that they always want to squeeze every last cent out of the market.
Seeing a 1-minute candlestick suddenly surge, they think the opportunity is here and rush in immediately. When the price pulls back a little, they start panicking about a further drop and quickly cut their position. They trade a dozen times a day, looking very hardworking, but end up paying a pile of fees while the account balance keeps shrinking.
Many people don’t know that most of the market’s movement is actually noise. If you try to catch every single rise and fall, in the end you often don’t make more—you get worn down repeatedly by the market. Real consistently profitable traders are more like hunters. They don’t fire just because they see a little movement; they patiently wait for opportunities with higher certainty. Trading once or twice a day, or even just once every few days, often makes it easier to get results than constantly overtrading.
Some people are afraid of missing out on the market. But you need to understand: missing one opportunity just means making less. Making one bad trade could cost you your principal. Trading isn’t about who acts the most—it’s about who has more patience. Set yourself a rule: don’t trade without a signal, and don’t act outside your plan.
Reducing chart-watching and impulsiveness actually makes it easier to make good trades. There are always market opportunities, but your principal only comes once.
