After spending a long time in crypto, you’ll find that the hardest part is never finding an opportunity—it’s controlling greed.
Many people don’t really not understand stop-loss; when the K-line drops, they know it’s dangerous, but they just can’t bring themselves to sell. They keep thinking it can still rebound, that if they wait a bit more they can make a little more profit. In the end, a small loss gets carried into a big loss, and the account keeps looking worse and worse. $BTC
The market doesn’t care whether you’re a beginner. What it loves to harvest most are people who should admit they’re wrong but still stubbornly hold on.
In my early years when I first entered, it was the same for me too—staying up late every night watching the charts. When it went up I chased it; when it went down I couldn’t bring myself to leave. Later, after losses became unbearable, I slowly understood this lesson—when you’re not sure, not trading matters far more than trading recklessly. $XAU
Now my trading is much simpler. If the signal isn’t clear, I’d rather stay in cash. Missing a move means at most earning less, but losing money really does hurt principal. I usually wait until the evening to look at the charts seriously; during the day there are too many pieces of news, and it’s easiest to get dragged along by emotions. Before placing an order, I at least check MACD, RSI, and Bollinger Bands—if two signals don’t align, I basically don’t enter. $BNB
Stop-loss must be set in advance. While watching the market, gradually move the stop-loss up to protect profits. If you’re not watching, give yourself a hard stop-loss—better to take a small loss than to run into a sudden wick/poke.
For short-term trading, I mainly look at the 1-hour chart. When the market is moving sideways, I switch to the 4-hour chart to find support and resistance. A lot of the time, the larger timeframe makes it easier to see the direction.
As for those meme coins that pump and dump every day, I touch them less and less now. It’s not that they can’t make money—it’s that when most people enter, it’s usually already become someone else’s liquidity.
One last sentence for those still stubbornly holding on: the most expensive thing in crypto isn’t the trading fees—it’s that bit of luck/fancy hope that refuses to cut losses. Only people who can control losses are qualified to wait for the next big market cycle.
