#GUSDYieldRisesto3.8%

3.8% Yield for GUSD Proves stablecoins aren't Just for Storing capital While it used to be an everyday narrative that stablecoins were best stored safely between trades, new developments are slowly changing this view in the minds of investors. One recent example is the latest GUSD Update. Upgrading minting process, it allows 1:1 minting against USDT, USDC, and USD1 which enables more users to enter the GUSD environment easily.

One compelling element that attracted me to GUSD was its Annualized yield of 3.8% distributed every day with automated rewards.

The idea that one could earn yields off idle stablecoins without having them to enter new trading rounds provides a useful addition. Moreover, GUSD can be used in products like Launchpool, Pre-IPOs, and other wealth management opportunities. Having several yield generation sources with a single stablecoin asset may optimize capital utilization, especially for traders who might already hold stablecoins in their portfolios or for other trading activities. However, before putting anything on hold, it is always a good idea to review any yield-generating product thoroughly.

This may include understanding yield eligibility criteria, the yield source, risks involved, and platform-specific conditions.

For any additional yield opportunities, it always comes down to careful assessment of the possible benefits versus risks. As the digital asset sector continues to mature, it has become evident that stablecoins offer not only safe, transactionally efficient ways to hold capital but also additional ways to access passive income streams, creating bridges with other financial products available on exchanges. Ultimately, this showcases how crypto platforms compete in offering an all-in-one experience, beyond pure trading.

How about you?

Would you store your stablecoins for upcoming trading setups or divert a portion to yield-generating avenues while you await for the market's recovery?

Multiple income sources are a good thing, but don’t put all your eggs in one basket—consider diversifying your allocation across different products and platforms.

I previously also tried switching USDT to GUSD to earn returns, but later found that if the platform has issues, redemptions could get stuck. Now that I see this upgrade supports 1:1 exchanges between USDT and USDC, it feels a lot more convenient—at least it allows more freedom when it comes to entering and exiting. Still, I need to remind myself: any high yield must be paired with caution to the same degree, and I can’t forget the historical lessons about stablecoin depegging.

The idea of automatically distributing rewards every day is pretty enticing—it doesn’t require manual operation, which is a blessing for lazy people. But you’d better check whether there are any restrictions on redemptions as well; if the liquidity is too poor, it would be awkward.

3.8% is definitely attractive, but if you want to earn interest on stablecoins, you need to first check whether the underlying assets are actually reliable.
