XVG is now around 0.0021u. It previously hit an all-time high of 0.2619u, and it has since fallen by 99%, which is a very large drop.

This coin is an old-timer. It first appeared in 2014, originally called DogeCoinDark, and later renamed Verge. The founder is a tech geek who has been working in network security for over 20 years.

Its positioning has always been privacy payments. It uses technologies like Tor and I2P to hide users’ IP addresses, keep the identities of both trading parties anonymous, and the wallet client also has built-in Tor integration.

The total supply is capped at 16.5 billion coins, with no pre-mine. In the beginning, the team kept nothing—pushing the project relied entirely on community fundraising and support. In 2018, it even ran another targeted crowdfunding round specifically to connect with large payment processors.

In the past couple of days, trading volume has risen quite a bit—up 4 times from the day before. The price hasn’t moved much though, and it has been tracking the broader market’s trend.

For a very early coin positioned around privacy payments that hasn’t been very hot in recent years, its price has long mostly moved with the overall market with only small fluctuations, with no independent trend#xvg $XVG
