Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 20, according to Cointelegraph, Cardano completed the van Rossem hard fork on Saturday, upgrading the mainnet to version 11. This upgrade is expected to reduce the cost of smart contract execution and lay the groundwork for the subsequent Dijkstra-era hard fork and the Ouroboros Leios scalability upgrade. On-chain data shows that the network transitioned from protocol version 10 to version 11 at the 644th epoch. The report notes that this is also the first hard fork in Cardano’s history driven by its governance mechanism.
