📈 Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) posts record profits in Q2

TSMC, the world’s largest chipmaker, announced exceptional financial results for the second quarter of 2026:
🔹 Net profit: 706.56 billion TWD, up 77.4% year-on-year for the same period (Yahoo Finance)
🔹 Revenue: 1.27 trillion TWD (about $40.20 billion), up 36% year-on-year (Yahoo Finance)
🔹 Gross margin: reached record levels, supported by strong demand for artificial intelligence (BigGo Finance)
The main driver behind this growth is rising demand for AI chips, with the company confirming that the infrastructure spending cycle that many expected to slow in 2026 instead accelerated (Tech Times).
The company also announced an additional $100 billion investment in Arizona, bringing its total investment commitments in the state to $265 billion (Yahoo Finance), and raised its 2026 capital expenditure outlook to the range of $60-64 billion.
