Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 20, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to brief on developments in industry and information technology in the first half of 2026. Xie Cun, spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Department of Information and Communication Development, said that in the past two years, more than 70 high-capacity computing “highways” have been built around the construction of national compute-power hub nodes, and network performance among the relevant hub nodes has improved by 10%. Currently, the explosive growth in the application of large AI models and intelligent agents is driving a continuous increase in demand for intelligent computing.

In the next step, the MIIT will continue to follow a systems-based working approach covering points, chains, networks, areas, and a broader framework, to optimize the deployment of compute-power infrastructure resources, build compute-power interconnection and interoperability nodes, and improve the utilization efficiency of compute-power resources. In terms of “focusing on points,” it will optimize the supply and deployment of compute-power resources, coordinate factors such as industrial development and energy supply, promote the construction of intelligent computing clusters and the coordinated development of computing and electricity, build a tiered compute-power layout, and strengthen overall compute-power coordination, monitoring, and oversight. It will also issue a guideline for building a compute-power standards system to promote the establishment of standards such as assessments of compute-power service capabilities and market-based pricing for compute power.
