On the short-term hourly chart, although the gold price gapped up in the early session, then pulled back and rebounded, the rebound strength is not strong—it only tested the resistance near 2020 around the rebound high late last Friday. Overall, in the short term, gold still remains relatively weak. For the daytime price action, my personal suggestion is to directly position for a move south near 4010. Take profit is targeted below 3985, with defense above 4020; if the level breaks, look for downside toward 3970$XAUUSD

The hourly chart is indeed weak, but if you short directly at 4010, the stop loss at 4020 is a bit small and you’re likely to get swept. It’s better to wait until the rebound loses momentum before entering, which is more reliable.
