Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 20, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) published an article stating that the United States has fallen behind China in the humanoid robotics sector. The article says that in 2025, Chinese companies will account for nearly 90% of global humanoid robot sales; major companies combined will have sold about 12,868 units, while major U.S. companies have sold only about 450 units.
ITIF points out that the U.S. lacks a national robotics strategy and that businesses have been adopting robotics more slowly, whereas China has listed robots as a national strategic priority and driven industrial expansion through subsidies and low-price advantages. ITIF calls on the U.S. to restore competitiveness by increasing R&D investment, supporting local manufacturers, and accelerating robot deployments.
