Golden Finance reported that on July 20, according to South Korean media, given that demand for memory chips far exceeds supply, SK Group chairman Choi Tae-won said SK Hynix is looking for locations for chip factories in the United States, aiming to increase supply capacity and curb prices. As a major player in the industry, he believes current price levels are too high and constitute an “abnormal” phenomenon. Choi Tae-won said: “I think we not only need to build (chip factories) in Gwangju and the Jeolla provinces, but also in the United States.” “If conditions allow, I think construction should be carried out.
