USDT faces a two-year compliance countdown on US crypto platforms

Golden Finance reports that on July 19, according to CoinDesk, issuers of offshore stablecoins such as Tether may need to meet the requirements of the GENIUS Act before July 2028, otherwise they face the risk of losing eligibility to be listed on U.S. centralized exchanges. Compliance requirements may include registering with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), complying with U.S. freeze orders and attachment orders, and adjusting the reserve structure of USDT. Federal regulators have not yet finalized the implementation details.
