I didn’t look closely at the recent online back-and-forth over NFT royalties, but I did notice a few phishing sites riding the hype and making it look like they really know what they’re doing. Honestly, when it comes to wallet security—which is what I deal with all the time alongside collateralization ratios—the thing I fear most is accidentally signing an authorization and crossing a liquidation red line.

As for seed phrases, I don’t store them online at all. I can’t even be bothered to take screenshots—I just copy them out by hand with pen and paper and put them in a drawer. Signature authorizations have to be even more careful, especially those pop-ups that ask you to sign an “approve”; they don’t look like anything legitimate DeFi. I figure that rather than getting stuck arguing over who’s right or wrong about royalties versus the secondary market, it’s better to clean up the authorizations in your wallet first, so phishing sites don’t get the upper hand. After all, the red line is right there—don’t wait until you’re actually liquidated to regret it.
