After browsing through bridge discussions today, I had some feelings. With cross-chain operations, you have to trust the validators, trust the relayers, and trust whether the smart contract has bugs… In any case, the trust chain is stretched longer than my L2 fee curve. The spat over NFT royalties is at least being fought vigorously—creators want to get paid, while the secondary market complains that liquidity is being tied up; both sides are betting on who will let go first. Forget it—I’ll just record one line in my notes: no matter how far on-chain messages travel, the roots of trust always lie on that original native chain.
