I just bridged again—Solana to Arbitrum. I thought I’d try IBC along the way, but the fees almost talked me out of it. 😂 I used to think cross-chain was just pressing a button, but later I realized there’s a lot you have to trust behind it—validator sets, oracles, relayers, and even the messaging protocol on the bridge. In plain terms, you hand your assets over to a bunch of code and nodes, and only when they don’t mess around or fail do you call it safe. Every time before I bridge, I wait a few extra minutes to see how much is left in the bridge’s liquidity pool. If it’s too small, I switch routes right away. Recently, there have been testnet points campaigns—people are guessing whether the mainnet will issue tokens, and I joined in to farm a bit too, but I can’t shake this thought: if the community really lowers the security priority and gets overly eager for quick gains, there’s probably going to be a problem. Anyway, I’d rather spend more time than have my assets siphoned off.
