After I muted the group, I actually felt a bit relieved. Before, I’d been staring at that pile of messages all day, afraid I’d miss some “cutting in line” opportunity—yet the more I watched, the more anxious I got. Put bluntly, aren’t those on-chain things—front-running trades and ordering issues—just a copy of cutting in line in real life? You’re here queuing up to wait for your transaction, while someone can spend a little more on gas to squeeze ahead of you, and then call it “optimization.”
Lately, with the airdrop season and the points system, all the “free-claimers” have been turning things into a frenzy of internal competition, like swiping in for work. I’m the kind of person who drags my feet—I stare for half a day and end up grabbing nothing—so wave after wave of anti-sybil (anti-witch) sweeps has me questioning life itself. Forget it. If it’s muted, it’s muted—at least then I won’t keep feeling like I’m fighting robots for food.
In any case, when it comes to fairness on-chain, it’s basically just a contest of who’s more willing to go all out—ordinary people can only take it as it comes.
